Education & Rotary Teams

Empowerment

Communities participate in health-related training and educational workshops on nutrition, reproductive health, hygiene, and malaria prevention.

A health committee is established in each village to promote the program and a health volunteer is identified, trained, and equipped to act in this role.

Prior to concluding the program, community leaders identify a community wide need and are paired with an organization specializing in their area of concern.  Not only does this final step help meet an existing need but it also empowers community leaders and strengths the community for the future.

Early Childhood Development Teams

Volunteers can participate in educational conferences for the Honduran medical community.  They can work with patients and parents with special developmental needs.  They may also provide ongoing education and support for community leadership.

Education Teams

Volunteers with specialized backgrounds and experience provide continuing education for our staff as well as community leaders and midwives.

Rotary Teams

Rotarians are provided with an opportunity to see how Rotary projects and Friends of Barnabas are changing lives in Honduras.  During such trips, Rotarians visit FOB facilities, local hospitals, an FOB Partner Community, and with local Rotary Clubs.  Rotarians also gather for fellowship and service projects.
